MODULES 2 & 6: Physical Healing & Recovery  |  Mental Well-Being

I’m Briana Powell

Founder, PMH-C, Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner AND Certified Nurse Midwife

The creator of Bloom Postpartum, a dual-certified Nurse-Midwife and Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC, PMH-C) with a certification in perinatal mental health. I was born and raised on a family farm here in South Dakota, where I learned early that growth takes both patience and care.

Today, I live in Sioux Falls, SD, with my husband and two daughters, who continually remind me that motherhood is both sweet and powerful. I also own a private practice called Bloom Mental Health & Wellness, where I follow my passion for helping women navigate anxiety, depression, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and the emotional transitions that accompany motherhood.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside women and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—both in the delivery room and in my clinic. Through that work, I’ve seen how powerful it is when families prepare for postpartum and how much smoother, gentler, and more joyful the transition can be when mothers feel supported.

But I’ve also seen how often the focus shifts entirely to the baby, while mothers are left feeling unseen in their own healing and transformation. Postpartum is one of the most tender and important times in a woman’s life, yet for far too long, it hasn’t received the attention it truly deserves.

That’s why I created Bloom Postpartum. This course brings the focus back to you—your recovery, your emotions, your relationships, and your well-being, while also equipping you with the knowledge and practical tools your family needs to thrive.

It combines my clinical background with the wisdom of thirteen other remarkable experts to create a holistic, effective, and graceful approach to postpartum care. Bloom is designed to help you feel prepared, supported, and empowered as you embrace your new journey into motherhood.

Whether you are expecting or already holding your baby in your arms, Bloom Postpartum is here to ensure you never walk this path alone. You deserve support that honors both your strength and your softness, and we are here to accompany you every step of the way.

Inside Bloom Postpartum, you’ll find eight carefully designed modules that guide you through every aspect of the postpartum experience. These modules cover everything from physical recovery and nourishment to baby care, sleep, relationships, and mental well-being. Each lesson blends medical knowledge with compassionate guidance, ensuring you feel seen and capable.

In the course, I cover Physical Healing & Recovery, guiding you to understand what is normal during the healing process and how to support it gently—without rushing or second-guessing your progress.

Additionally, in Mental Well-Being, we identify your emotions, replace fear with understanding, and develop a plan for emotional care, allowing you to nurture your mind as thoughtfully as your body.

My goal is to provide you with a calm and reliable support system, offering clear guidance, step-by-step tools, and access to a team of experts throughout this process. You'll leave feeling prepared, confident, and supported, knowing when to seek help and how to take care of yourself completely.

This is more than a course—it’s a companion for your journey. One that you can take at your own pace, revisit whenever needed, and use to create a plan that truly fits your life. Whether you're preparing for postpartum, navigating the first few weeks at home, or managing multiple children alongside your newborn, Bloom meets you exactly where you are and helps you grow from there.

Remember, you don’t have to have it all figured out to be doing an amazing job. That’s the heart behind Bloom—to give you space to breathe, tools to lean on, and the gentle reminder that you’re enough just as you are.
